This week we looked at 2 poems with similar topics. The first poem was by William Blake and it's entitled "London". The other poem was by William Wordsworth and it's entitled "London 1802". The attitude towards the city of London, England in each poem differs. Blake's poem talks a lot about war and battle, and the physical and mental bindings that come along with an experience like war. Wordsworth's talked a lot about Milton, a highly valued and celebrated poet. We spent the week explicating the poems, and they were a little tougher for me to figure out than past PoW's. The reason these were harder for me was because there were metaphorical meanings which I'm not good at figuring out. The literal poems are 10x easier for me. However, with that being said the poems were the hardest ones we've had to deal with.
We also finished up with our This I Believe video storybooks. The class time that we had to work really helped me in finishing my video. WeVideo was fairly easy to use as well. I was a little nervous about it at first, because I'm pretty technology-challenged. I was debating on using iMovie on my macbook but I knew that if I needed help I wouldn't be able to get help from my peers or Mr. Schoenborn. The only issue I had with WeVideo was it would sometimes lag. This would make the audio and the pictures off, so I kept thinking that I didn't time it out right! Then I would go through and change it so it matched up but then when I get back on later it would be off again. That wasn't a huge issue though because I stopped trying to do it at home, I just worked on it at the school computers so it stayed the same every time. I ended up finishing my video this week which is really exciting! I can't wait to watch everyone else's too, I feel like I'll learn some new things about my classmates!
